Poem.

'Life can be a river' I once read,
So I leapt silently into the Atlantic,
My skin akin with the water,
Breathing the piney, coastal air.

written by the sea, in the sea, for the sea, with Jake and Elsie after the Maine Country Ground Fair (Jake with his wine and cheese, Else with her ukulele, my with my bare feet and writing tools).
On the Coast of Maine, US.

Winter Poem

a little winter poem i wrote in Whistler, BC as the cold was setting in.

The Larch
bared wintry against my window
The Lark
soft burst of downy darkness
The Last
bittered leaf curls to the pavement
The Larkspur
breathes close to the earth, trying to warm.

A little poem

I wonder.
The birds know,
the trees and wind tell them,
The little bear watches his mother
The yearling elk follows the trail of footprints ahead of him,
The ground nods quietly to the feet, hooves and claws that gently walk it.
A knowing, of the way to travel, the pattern and circle,
the prospering through the moons.
A forgotten knowledge.
The way.

a little poem i wrote one night in Vancouver. photo of Franconia, White Mountains, NH.
